THE CRAFTSMAN Cocktails + Kitchen
This restaurant was inspired by a hardworking farmer who's headstone reads 'The Craftsman'. We committed to maintain the attention to handcraft and detail, throughout the design of this concept, as dose the family it came from. Headed by Chef Chris Nicosia who is a Culinary Hall of Famer, this place is one to visit.
Let's start with the bar. We brought in natural oak wood to warm up the existing concrete bar top which we kept in place from the previous establishment as we appreciate the classic industrial touch it added. To play off of that industrial tribute we brought in our Jute Pendant accompanied with rope and steel. In efforts to keep the space timeless we brought in a natural marble stone, brick laid, backsplash. Our Black leather Alibi Bar Stools feature a classic leather look, although they are a highly durable faux leather material which our restauranteurs required for longevity. The vertical channeling on the leather ads interest when paired with our Duke Bar Table. Slim iron legs of waxed black stand tall to support a rough-hewn oak top for a clean, casual pub-style look... Besides, leather and wood just have a way of pairing well with whisky, right?
The Craftsman's signature "tasting bar" stands proud with nine barrel staves, custom designed by our Interior Design Team at Guided Home Design. As a tribute to the fermenting process each barrel head is branded with icons which embody the story of the Craftsman establishment and the house made spirits they are proud to serve at their table!
This space offered room to create a comfortable lounge section, for dining by the fire, as a perfect cocktail evening retreat. The worn brown leather chairs contrasts with the modern white marble and brass tables, Felicity Coffee Table & Side Table, which is a pairing we consistently executed throughout the space to allude to the history behind the venue while maintaining a timelessly modern ambiance because everything in moderation is key to a timeless design. We designed the firewood stacked feature-wall in efforts to provide a sense of warmth and play off of the wood fired, craftsman kitchen experience. Take note of the leather straps supporting the steel and brass accented chandelier. It's another one of the the pieces that ties the whole room together.
We called this room the study as it is a spacious yet cozy retreat for private parties. There's no better way to add personality and style to a space than a bookcase. The Bane Bookshelf can come in as many pieces as you need. You can buy it individually or in 2's or 3's. This will fit any wall length you have. The ladder is what makes this one unique. Perfect for a living room, dining or study.
The patio is the perfect setting for sunset seating by the fire-pits or around our Aurelius Outdoor Dining Table. This fiber-reinforced concrete table is perfectly suitable for the outdoor elements yet its stately pillared legs and thick, matte, rectangular tabletop create a sleek modern design that could be used indoors or out along with our Esterno Outdoor Chair. Located at the furthest distance from the existing concrete bar countertop, this exterior dining table moment compliments and balances it cement counterpart.
Adding a lively element was one of our most important final touches on this space! All the succulents and leafy green arrangements throughout the space were hand crafted by our GHD design team. We utilize a mixture of live and faux plants to trick the untrained eye into the perception of it all being real. Our Faux Succulent Collection offer such realistic faux options, we have even our best botanical designers doing a double take!
Speaking of double takes... notice the charcoal stained vertical slatting framing the back bar. This slatting application was designed to hide two functional kitchen doors that were originally not the most visually pleasing focal point. Therefore, we took it upon ourselves to create a couple hidden doors while still allowing the staff the essential functionality and flow they need but giving the customers a dimensional design element to appreciate.
